Suncroft Lodge is a purpose built home set beautifully in discreet grounds on two acres in Suncroft Village, The Curragh, Co. Kildare. The home is situated within walking distance of the local shops, post office and church. Suncroft Lodge is 6 km’s off the Dublin / Kildare motorway and 10 minutes drive from Newbridge and 20 minutes from Naas and Athy.

We are delighted to announce that Antoinette Kane was nominated as Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) Ancillary Worker Award 2013. Antoinette runs our laundry service at Suncroft and is an indispensible member of our team.
As Suncroft Lodge is a purpose build home meticulous thought has gone into its design so as to provide our Residents with high degrees of privacy and comfort. Our superbly finished bedrooms are fitted with bespoke furniture, a wireless call system and have private telephone points.
All rooms are ensuite and have been designed to afford easy access and facilitate assisted showering. While the majority of our rooms are single, we also have a number of double rooms available. Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal effects to Suncroft Lodge in order to personalise their rooms.
Suncroft Lodge is set over two floors with level access and all bedrooms enjoy a garden aspect. The home is designed to provide “small group” environments and we have various lounges and dining rooms within the home. We want our Residents to benefit from a cosy and safe ambience.
We have a large landscaped sensory garden area for Residents to enjoy, relax, garden, or exercise. Among the facilities available we have a hairdressing salon, visitor’s room, oratory and smoking room if required. We provide a full complimentary laundry service.
Our staff have also received specilaised training in Dementia care in our St. Bridget's Unit.
Dining in Suncroft Lodge is a social experience to look forward to and be enjoyed by all. Our catering service is provided in conjunction with Campbell Bewley teams of experienced chefs preparing menus which comprise of fresh, seasonal ingredients so that every meal is not only nutritious but also looks great and tastes delicious. It is important that our residents eat what they like, whether a lovely wholesome tasty shepherd's pie, or a gourmet delight of beef stroganoff. The dishes we prepare reflect and include the likes and requests of our residents.
We pride ourselves on offering a balanced, nutritious diet using fresh, quality local ingredients, to meet all our residents' preferences and their specific dietary needs. All our food is prepared by our excellent team of highly trained chefs.
We provide residents with a choice of homemade dishes and freshly baked goods each day which residents can choose to take in the dining room or, if they prefer, in the comfort of their own room.
Day to day living at Suncroft Lodge is all about our Residents. We believe a managed social activities program plays a key role in ensuring our Residents live their life to the full in their home from home. We endeavor to provide as wide a range of activities as possible over seven days to cater for physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents.

Many of our activities create bonds between our Residents and Staff. We strive to take into account personal interests and hobbies where possible.
Sheila Power R.G.N. is the Director of Nursing at Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home and a native of Kildare. Sheila has been a nurse for over 14 years and has specialised in care of the elderly for the last 8 years. Sheila trained in the U.K. and returned to Ireland in 2007 where she took up the position of Director of Nursing at Clover Lodge Nursing Home. From 2010 to 2014 she was Director of Nursing at Castle Garden Nursing Home, Enniscorthy. Together with her team of more than 50 staff, Sheila is dedicated to the Trinity Care’s mission of ‘meeting the needs of our residents by providing them with the highest level of person centered care and service. Sheila ensures that Suncroft Lodge and its residents and staff play an integral part in the local community.
Sheila is supported by a very experinced team of Nurse and Care Staff including Sinead Cronly R.N.I.D. who is the Assistant Director of Nursing. Dr. Caffrey is the home's G.P. Brenda Carroll is our Administrator and Mary Shelly is the Head Housekeeper.
